Full-face helmets
A full-face helmet covers the skull, face and chin area with a fixed chin bar. For highway commuting, sporty street riding and electric motorcycle use at traffic speeds, this design offers the most complete coverage among common road helmet styles. It also provides a sealed visor, better weather protection and more stable aerodynamics than open designs. Modular helmets
A modular helmet has a chin bar that can flip up. Touring riders and commuters often choose modular designs because they make conversation, fuel stops and glasses easier. Open-face and half helmets

Fit is the feature you cannot fix later
A certified helmet that fits badly can move, distract the rider or fail to sit correctly during a crash. Start by measuring your head with a cloth tape just above the eyebrows and around the widest part at the back of the skull. Use the manufacturer’s size chart only as a starting point, because medium in one brand can feel very different from medium in another.

- Do not modify the impact liner. Replaceable cheek pads and comfort liners are normal. Cutting foam, drilling the shell or compressing the EPS liner can compromise the design and may void warranty coverage.

Look beyond the shell material
Buyers often ask whether polycarbonate, fiberglass, carbon fiber or composite shells are safest. Shell material matters, but it should not be used as a shortcut around certification and fit. Use price as a filter, not as proof
A higher price can buy lighter materials, better ventilation, quieter aerodynamics, premium shield mechanisms and more refined interiors. When comparing prices, separate safety essentials from convenience upgrades. Certification, fit, chin-strap security and clear vision are essentials. A helmet is energy-management equipment, not a lifetime accessory.
